Diagnosis
C. acuta differs from its closely related species C. chalcites by its olive brown forwing colour and presence of small silver spot on medial line whereas there is no silver spot on medial line of C. chalcites. Valva of C. acuta more broader than C. chalcites.
Description
Wingspan of adults 35-37 mm. Forewing deep olive brown in colour. Black coloured scales are present on median area of forewing. A small silver spot present on the median line of the forewing. This species also have silvery figure of eight with the two halves separated, second halve elongated . Post median line less visible. The antimedial line forms an angle with the costal region. Uncus is longer & thicker & its shape resembles with sickle. Saccus thinner & longer. Valve thinner from base & broadened from the upper side. Vesica extremely longer armed by large no of small cornuti. In female genitalia corpus bursae bean shaped. The ductus bursae thicker & longer & generally forms a loop like structure from one side.
