 Diagnosis

P. adrasta  is recognizable by its forewing patterns and well developed longer falcate labial palpus. The species externally differ from its closely related species P. dichora with pinkish less metallic forewing ground colour with respect to P.dichora. Valvae of P. adrasta adrasta is broader, harpae longer than its sister species.

 Description

Adult with wingspan 45mm. Head with vertex and frons light brown with pinkish scales on it. Eyes large with facial hair well developed. Thoracic and anal tuft well developed. Forewing ground colour pinkish with bronze metallic brilliance; black scales present on the forewing basal area. Gamma mark larger and shaped as U and a dot. Labial paplus longer, falcate upturned and covered with pinkish hair scales. Hindwing rounded and paler. Adult with abdominal crest easily seen. Uncus shorter; valvae broader; vinculum narrower and make a triangular structure at the saccus. Harpe longer and thicker. Vesica small with two diverticulum present at the terminal part.
