Diagnosis
C. tarassota morphologically similar with its three closely related species; C.adiaphora, C. sigillata and C. ichinosei but distinguishable with variation in male and female genitalia. Gamma mark finer; weaker pinkish-reddish irroration with other species.
Description
Wingspan 30-35 mm. Head and thorax covered with grayish-brown scales. Labial palpus upturned. Vertex and frons brunneus coloured. Thorax and collar fuscus brown. Forewing triangular with pointed apex with olive green ground colour. Pinkish irroration present on subterminal and antemedial area. Gamma mark is U and a dot, dot is filled with golden colour. Hindwing light brown coloured with darker on marginal area. Male with well developed anal hair. Male genitalia with uncus long and curved. Corona of valve broader than rest of the parts. Ampulla shorter. There is large no. of comb like spinules present below the corona region. Vesica with medial group of cornutus almost equal length present. Female genitalia with corpus bursae distally rounded and proximally bean shaped. Ovipositor large, papillae anales rounded.
