Diagnosis

T. daubei differs from its closely related afrotropical species T.indicator (Walker, 1858) and the South-East Asiatic T.lectula (Walker, 1858) with its smaller wingspan and forewing ground colour which is dark reddish-brown in T. lectula. An antemedial white streak mark also differs between the species which is more broader and darker than T. daubei.

Description

Wingspan of adults 25-30mm. Head and thorax fuscus grey with white suffusion. Labial palpus covered with greyish-white scales and third segment upturned. Forewing with ground colour dusky grey, gamma streak mark originates from antemedial line and almost touches the post median line. Streak mark outlined by white colour. Fine white lines present on the subterminal area of the forewing. A white band present outwards the median line. Male genitalia with shorter tegumen; uncus curved; clavus medium sized; vinculum longer. Vesica with terminal long cornutus present.
