West Bengal, Tamilnadu, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Bihar, Punjab, Delhi, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim.

Diagnosis

T. orichalcea differs from its closely related species T. intermixa (warren,1913) (which occurs sympatrically) by its golden patch which is less wider than other. Head with frons and vertex less reddish. In male genitalia longer terminal cornuti present in the vesica with respect to C. intermixa with small cornuti.

Description

Wingspan of adults 36-40mm. Head, collar & vertex reddish orange coloured. Forewing covered with  metallic golden shimmering surface which is distinct from any other species. Hindwings unpatterned & paler-brown, somewhat darker at the margin. Male genitalia longer & thinner, valve  not so much wide. Saccus broader. Thorn like terminal cornutus present on vesica with basal row of small cornuti. Corpus bursae in female genitalia longer & junction of ductus bursae & corpus bursae curved.
